In our biorefinery we are developing technologies for transformation of biomass (e.g. meal from oil seeds) into ecological and innovative bioproducts for cosmetics, agriculture and pharmaceutical use. We are looking to partner with universities, research institutions, companies operating in the field of biomass fermentation for production of high value added products - other than bioethanol - by means of non-GMO strains. Our main products are biosurfactants and biopolymers.
To a potential partner we offer access to a demonstration scale fermentation facility up to 0.5 m3 (both submerged and solid state fermentations) along with a downstream processing equipment – continuous centrifuges, filtration units, press, distillation equipment etc., as well as analytical resources e.g. supercritical fluid extraction, centrifugal partition chromatography and size exclusion chromatography. With us you could test your processes at an industrial scale and fully characterise and purify your products.
Boruta-Zachem is determined to promote green chemistry and circular economy concepts. This is shown by our continuous effort to build first biorefinery in Poland. Our long-term goal for the biorefinery is to simultaneously manufacture products obtained as a result of biomass processing, followed by sequential refining of products with high added value, in particular biosurfactants, cosmetic ingredients, prebiotics, probiotics, enzymes and feedstock components. In our work we focus on scientific and technological approaches targeting a more sustainable use of natural resource, in accordance with the European Bioeconomy Strategy. We are currently running three European Regional Development Fund projects with a total value of approx. 16 mln EUR.
