HES, United Kingdom
Technical University of Munich, HES, Germany
Universitat de Girona, HES, Spain

Project Abstract

The SynConsor4Butanol project aims to the development of new “CO2 free” Sustainable production and conversion processes based on lignocellulosic feedstocks. This will lead to a value-added product, n-butanol, useful in the chemical industry and as a biofuel. Ultimately, the developments made will lead to new sustainable industrial processes. Engineered synthetic consortia will be derived through a combination of interdisciplinary methodologies, synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, systems biology, and fermentation development.

SynConsor4Butanol is funded by the ERA CoBioTech partners: ANR, UKRI-InnovateUK, BMBF and AEI.

Duration: 36 months
Project Budget:  Total Cost: 1.318.000 Euro, Funding: 1.210.000 Euro
